Founded in 1912 as Swansea Town the club changed their name, in
1969, to reflect Swansea's new status as a city.
Located in South Wales, Swansea City represent England when playing in
European competitions; although they have represented Wales in the past.

Leave the M4 at Junction 45 and take the A4067 towards Swansea City
Centre. Stay on the A4067 to reach the stadium.
Swansea High Street Station is on the mainline route from London
Liberty Stadium is about two miles from the
station. Turn right off the High Street onto Neath Road.

In 1981, Swansea City were promoted to the First Division and
during the following season came close to winning the league title.
