European Championships

Czech Republic have made three previous appearances at the European Championship Finals (and three as Czechoslovakia): 1960, 1976, 1980, 1996, 2000 and 2004.

Czechoslovakia won the Final against West Germany at Yugoslavia 1976. As Czech Republic, the team finished runners-up at England 1996 and reached the semi-finals at Portugal 2004.

World Cup Appearences

1934, 1938, 1954, 1958, 1962, 1970, 1982, 1990, 2006.

When the Czech Republic was part of Czechoslovakia, they finished runners-up in Italy 1934 and Chile 1962.

Group winners stay in the country they played their group games in, while teams finishing second will be travelling across the border.

The runner up of Group A will have to travel from Switzerland to Vienna for the quarter-final and (if they win that) back to Basel for the semi-final.; then back to Vienna for the final.
