Cameroon in the World Cup Finals

World Cup Appearances:
France 1998 was Cameroon's 4th appearance in the World Cup Finals.

Best World Cup Performance:
Cameroon made the world take notice when they defeated the defending champions Argentina (1:0) in the opening match of Italy 1990.

They were also leading England by two goals to one in the quarter-finals, after being a goal down, before Gary Lineker closed the door on them by scoring two penalties.

The Roger Millar wiggle was at it again in USA 1994, when he became the oldest man to score a goal in the World Cup finals; at the age of 42.

Group B

11th June: vs. Austria (1:1) in Toulouse.

17th June: vs. Italy (0:3) in Montpellier.

23rd June: vs. Chile (1:1) in Nantes.

Dirty or clumsy, this Cameroon side had the whistle blown against them more than most; although they were unfortunate to have a goal disallowed in their last game, against Chile.

Knockout Stage

Cameroon failed to qualify for the Second Round.
