England in the World Cup Finals

World Cup Appearances:
France 1998 was England's 8th appearance in the World Cup Finals.

Best World Cup Performance:
England beat West Germany in the World Cup Final at Wembly in 1966.

Germany seem to be constantly paying them back for that, beating them on penalties in the semi-finals of Italy 1990 and Euro 96.

A team to please the fans, and then the Team of God had the chance to wipe out memories of the hand of God goal in Mexico 1986.

For 75 minutes England were in God's hands after David Beckham was sent off at the start of the second half. The ten men of England took the game into extra-time, to eventually exit another major tournament through not scoring all their penalties.
