Matches Played on Tuesday, 23rd June

Brazil vs Norway in Marseilles (1:2).

Chile vs Cameroon in Nantes (1:1)

Italy vs Austria in Saint-Denis (2:1).

Scotland vs Morocco in St. Etienne (0:3).

Italy vs Austria in Saint-Denis: (16:00)

Austria scored a last minute goal again, but this time they were already down two goals.

Italy lost Nesta after only three minutes to injury, in a physical contest that proved a nerve racking experience for Cesare Maldini once more.

The first goal came well into time added on in the first-half, a Del Piero free-kick from the side of the area for Vieri to claim his fourth goal of the tournament.

Roberto Baggio came on in the second half and scored in the last minute of normal time from Inzaghi; also a substitute.

Baggio tried to set up Inzaghi in injury time, but the last word fell to Austria as usual. A penalty converted by Herzog as the seconds of their World Cup Finals ticked away.

Final Score:
Italy 2 - Austria 1

Chile vs Cameroon in Nantes: (16:00)

Chile just scrapped through with a draw against an understaffed Cameroon and will have to sharpen up their act when they face Brazil. Song was sent of in the 51st minute, and Etame joined him two minutes before the end of normal time.

Sierra put the South Americans ahead, in the twentieth minute, from a direct free-kick, curling in to the top right corner.

Rojas was booked for acting in the penalty area -- he wasn't even touched. Justice for Cameroon as they scored almost immediately with a header from Mboma. The Africans had a goal disallowed, and will now be cheering for Nigeria.

The Chileans will be without Parraguez, Rojas and Villarroel for the clash with Brazil.

Final Score:
Chile 1 - Cameroon 1

Brazil vs Norway in Marseilles: (21:00)

Brazil didn't start as if they were just going through the motions. Revenge is always sweet, and they had to make up for a (4:2) pillage at the feet of the Vikings.

Ronaldo came close in the early minutes and Roberto Carlos cracked a curling free-kick; from way out of the area, before the quarter-hour.

Dunga seemed happier with Bebeto, although the number 20 never seems to sweat.

Norway, largely inspired by Tore Andre Flo, came into the game trying to prove that they could beat Brazil in a real competition.

The start of the second-half was dismal. Norway must have known that Morocco were leading two-nil, yet they couldn't relieve Brazil of possession and make it count.

In the 78th minute, Denilson beat two players on the left; then stumbled but recovered to cross in for Bebeto, to head home.

Norway might have fell in a black hole, but recovered to level the scores; within five minutes.

Tore Andre Flo received a long ball and took on Baiano, cut inside him, and whallop.

An 89th minute penalty, by Rekdal, secured their place in the Second Round; against Italy.

Final Score:
Brazil 1 - Norway 2

Scotland vs Morocco in St. Etienne: (21:00)

What a terrible start for Scotland; a goal by Bassir in the twenty-second minute.

Another one from Hadda just after half time, and Craig Burley was sent off in the 54th minute.

Bassir added his second goal, in the 84th minute; but Norway scored a last-minute penalty, against Brazil, to take the second place in the group.

Final Score:
Scotland 0 - Morocco 3
