Group E

13th June: vs. South Korea (3:1) in Lyon.

20th June: vs. Belgium (2-2) in Bordeaux.

25th June: vs. Holland (2-2) in St. Etienne.

Hernandez and company left it late to qualify from this group and can thank South Korea for sending a life boat to the Bay of Mexico.

When the Koreans equalized in the 71st minute against Belgium, it was like a psychological goal for Mexico who then clawed back a two goal deficit to draw with Holland. For almost an hour they were not in the tournament, let alone the game.

Knockout Stage

2nd Round
29th June: vs. Germany (1:2) in Montpellier.

The game plan changed in the Second Round, and they actually took the lead. The aging Germans didn't retire and that was the end of the Blanco hop.
