Italy vs Ghana in Hannover:
Ghana had their moments and might feel unlucky not to get a penalty (two 50-50 decisions went against them) but they lost concentration at times and Italy did what was expected of them.

Czech Republic vs Ghana in Köln:
Ghana stunned the Czech Republic by scoring in the second minute and never looked back; as they went on to become the first African team to win a game, at the 2006 World Cup Finals.

Ghana vs USA in Nürnberg:
Ghana made sure that Africa would be represented among the top sixteen countries in the world.

Second Round
Brazil vs Ghana in Dortmund:
Sadly, Asamoah Gyan pressed the self-destruction button by blatantly diving just inside the Brazil penalty area, with ten minutes to go, to earn his second yellow card and just about end any hope Ghana had of scoring two goals.
